Tour Information

When you take the Xcaret Tour you are coming to visit a place that is so much more than just an adventure park. The creators of Xcaret have designed a place where you can spend time enjoying the best of everything that Mexico has to offer, all in one unique space. From water activities to communing with nature, interacting with wildlife both in their natural habitat and in zoo-like environments, to ancient Mayan sites and traditions, you will find yourself immersed in this land that is Mexico! Welcome to your Xcaret Tour – where you can do as much or as little as you want! And where you can purchase the pass that is just right for you – admission only, add on meals and beverages, transportation, and wonderful experiences – dolphin swims, snuba diving (like scuba but for everyone), snorkeling, swimming with sharks, and more!

Xcaret opened in 1990 and has been developing into the amazing place you find it to be today.  There are three underground rivers where you can float for half a mile, wearing simply a life jacket while viewing amazing rock formations, Mayan sinkholes, and marine fossils, before exiting the system near the sea ready for your next adventure should you choose to accept the challenge! Perhaps river rafting? On the Paradise River – crossed by the Paradise River trail, slip through the jungle canopy in search of wildlife indigenous to the area like deer and howler monkeys!

Ready to relax a bit? Find the hammock jungle or take a swim and go for a snorkel in the inlet. There are many beaches and natural pools where you will also find beach chairs, palapas, and loungers, as well as food and beverage services.

Bring the whole family! The Children’s World is a space that will fascinate and delight kids from 6 to 12! Here they can swim in their own cenotes, there are water slides, suspension bridges, tunnels, climbing nets and a whole lot more! There are also special spaces for kids under 6 – they haven’t been forgotten about either. All safety gear is provided for the kids, and a special area is set up so parents can watch their children in safety at all times.

Closed circuit television monitoring ensures that this is a safe space for everyone. Water is a maximum of 4 to 5 feet deep, even in the cenotes. Life jackets are provided and mandatory. Lifeguards are on duty at all bodies of water at all times. As a bonus feature to parents, there are autofoto spots set up in the area so you can purchase pictures of your kid’s experiences from the day – great option so you don’t have to worry about missing out on the fun they are having!

Xcaret Tour Childrens World

I’m not going to give you so much information that you will feel like you’ve already been there, however, here are just a few more things you can see and experience at Xcaret:

Animals, mammals, sea creatures, birds and more – they have the Butterfly Pavilion which is incredible (beyond words really), the Bird Aviary which has earned them a Guinness Book of World Records Award for most Macaws born in a year (2013), there’s a Bat Cave (no Batman, unfortunately), and Jaguar Island, you can see crocodiles, tapir’s, manatees, howler monkey’s, sea turtles and deer.

Then we move into the Tropical Jungle – they have the most amazing Orchid and Bromeliad Museum, truly incredible. A coral reef aquarium.

For Cultural experiences, there is the main square, the church, the temezcal, the museum of Mexican folk art, the Mayan village, the Mexican cemetery, the stained glass plaza, a chapel, archeological sites, and a pre-hispanic ball games court (crazy stuff here).

For entertainment, they have the rotating scenic tower, many performances throughout the park during the day and evening, the spectacular show every night,  even a horse exhibition twice a night.

Take a boat out to the ocean near the park and explore the ocean and coral reef! This is a great addition to your day – the reef is amazing – second only to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia so they say.
